Rains wreck havoc in many parts of the country leading to destruction

BY CORRESPONDENT,NAROK,14TH MARCH 2018-Heavy rains continue to be witnessed in various parts of the country wrecking havoc.On Wednesday motorist playing Mai Mahiu road  were stranded after the busy road was  closed after a section caved in due to heavy rains.

Motorists  have been urged to use alternate routes on the Nakuru Highway, mostly  those going to or coming from Kisii and Narok.

Police say  “the affected area is almost four metres wide and would take time to reconstruct.”

Motorists from Kisii, Bomet and Narok headed for Nairobi are advised to use the Kericho route; the same for those from Nairobi.

The rains have caused massive damage on the section of the road as floods from nearby mountains rage downstream.

Kenya meteorological department have warned of heavy rains throughout this month with most parts of the country receiving more than 40milimiters of rainfall.Those living on sloppy terrains have been urged to move to safer areas to avoid being swept away.
