NASA leaders meet over Odinga and Uhuru talks,to issue comprehensive statement

BY NAMULONGO PETER,MACHAKOS,12TH MARCH 2018-Nasa leaders held  a meeting in Athi river on Monday  following a meeting last Friday that saw One of the coalition’s co-principal Raila Odinga meet with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The meeting brought together the four leaders Mudavadi (ANC), Kalonzo (Wiper) and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang’ula (Ford Kenya).Addressing the press after the meeting NASA Co-principal Musalia Mudavadi says they had time to listen to Odinga as he shared what transpired in the meeting he had with Kenyatta and they were happy.

Today, Mudavadi said: “Let it be known that we support constructive dialogue to deal with problems … devolution, inclusivity, poverty, attacks on the judiciary among others … ”

Mudavadi told the reporters that he could not divulge much information as time is needed to delve more into what the discussed.

“Due to the weighty matters, we shall give a ‘small’ briefing and will not take any questions for issues at hand are extremely weighty,” he said.

The Nasa principal said all affiliate parties will be briefed so they understand the developments.

“The summit registers its appreciation for constructive dialogue and a framework to be take in issues of national concern. We will proceed to brief the organs of the constituent parties,” he said.

He said a more comprehensive statement will be given  once all the parties give their input.

There had been speculation that the ODM boss would not attend the meeting as he earlier sent Siaya Senator James Orengo, a lawyer who represents Nasa in legal matters.
