BY KORIR JUMA,NAIROBI,12TH MARCH 2018-One of the artists behind the infamous song mocking the Kamba community was on Monday   arraigned in court facing ethnic contempt related charge.

He was released on a cash bail of Sh700, 000

Nairobi Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi further directed that his trial be head on the April 19.

The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) has been investigating the content of the song since its release  with chair Francis Olekaparo vowing that composers will be brought to book

The Kikuyu song was produced in reaction to the banning of charcoal burning in Kitui.

Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu has banned charcoal trade, which she blames for destruction of the environment.

Leaders from Central Kenya among them governors have expressed displeasure with the move which has seen lorries carrying charcoal set a blaze in recent weeks.

Police are still looking for his colleague who is still at large.
