BY CORRESPONDENT,KITALE,22ND FEB 2018-Sirisia member of parliament John Waluke has gotten a reprieve after High court in Kitale upheld his victory in the August 8 2017 elections.
While issuing the ruling judge Anthony Murima said the petitioner Levi Malaki did not give enough evidence to warrant nullifying of the entire election.
Levi in his case he had claimed that Waluke had bribed voters as well as alleged cases of malpractices.
However judge Murima said Malaki has not satifaied the court that he had a weighty case.”Having gone and perused through documents presented as evidence as well as oral submissions,i hereby rule that the petitioner did not satisfy this court in arguing out his point”.the judge said.
The judge has been ordered Malaki to bear the cost of the case amounting to KSH 6 Million.
The ruling has been received with joy by Waluke’s supporters who camped outside the court during the session.
