UPESINEWS.CO.KE has established that the  gang, armed with an AK 47 rifle and machetes  raided Sosi and Saria villages at around 10pm, killing four people, two of whom were also beheaded with the gang walking away with their severed heads.

Locals says the criminals have high probability of  being remnants of the outlawed Sabaot Land Defence militia who  also hacked 12 cows to death during the night attack. They say they  moved from house to house attacking the occupants and killing animals they came across. Some of the victims seems to have been well known to the killers since they called names before shooting them to death.

Kimilili MP Didmas Barasa condemned the attack and called on the government to deploy the army in the region, saying over 100 people had been killed in the area in the last six months.

The MP says the  assailants have been acquiring guns from Chebukube and Suam areas at the Kenya- Uganda border before crossing over to Kimilili constituency.

Mr. Barasa called on the immigration officers to be vigilant on the people crossing the border at Chebukebe and Suam areas. The residents  have  also accused police of laxity, urging Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i to come to their rescue.
