BY JOAN WANJIKU,NAIROBI,19TH FEB 2018- Besieged Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter has been arraigned before milimani court chief Magistrate Francis Andai and charged with 12 counts related to forgery.10 out of the 11 counts relates to making a false document while 1 revolve around conspiracy to defraud the Central Bank of Kenya.
He was charged alongside Desai Industries executives; Arthur Ingolo Sakwa and Madat Suburali Chatur.
The three however pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
Keter through his lawyer said that the arrest was an attempt to cover up a “fraud committed against Desai Industries”. He also blamed his woes on his political rivals.
“I will not relent. I refuse to be intimidated and will not be cowed by those who seek to exploit Kenyans with impunity,” he said.
They has been released on a Sh2 million cash bail each.
The case will be mentioned on March 5 2018.
They spent the weekend at Muthaiga Police Station after they were arrested at the Central Bank of Kenya on invitation of Governor Patrick Njoroge.
