Babu Owino takes an early lead in the vote recount exercise in Embaksi East,Francis Mureithi is distant second

BY KORIR JUMA,NAIROBI,17TH FEB 2018-Embakasi East member of parliament Babu Owino has taken an early lead against Francis Mureithi as vote recount continues in the Constituency.WWW.UPESINEWS.CO.KE has established that as of Saturday, February 17, Owino had garnered 32,410 votes whereas Mureithi of Jubilee party had 27, 461 votes with 77 polling stations left to go.
By the time of going to press three quarters of the polling stations had votes counted with 130 out of 207 polling stations in the constituency already done with.
The vote re-counting exercise in the remaining polling stations to be completed on Monday, February 19.
Mureithi is challenging ODM’s Babu Owino’s August 8, 2018 election victory who held that the poll was marred with irregularities and pleaded for vote recount
The recount comes after high Court on Monday, February 12, ordered for the exercise in Embaksi east constituency.
