BY CORRESPONDENT,MACHAKOS,9TH FEB 2018-There was jubilation outside Machakos high court on Friday morning after the high court upheld governor Dr Alfred Mutua’s election victory. His win was challenged by Wiper candidate Wavinya Ndeti.

Judge Agrey Muchelule says Ndeti did not present enough evidence in court to back up her argument.

Ndeti had said the elections held on 8th August 2017 was marred by irregularities and bribery.Judge Muchelule has ordered Ndeti  to bear all the cost of the suit amounting to Ksh 10 million.

Addressing his supporters after the ruling,Mutua has thanked his supporters whom he says have always kept him in prayer during the period of the case, his family and the Maendeleo chapchap party membership. He says Ndeti had no case that would have held any water.”Nilijua hawana kesi hawa ilikuwa ni upusi mtupu”(loosely translated to a i knew there was no case but sheer nonsense he said.)

He has vowed to continue serving the people of Machakos county.
