Court blocks police from arresting NASA MPs over Odinga swearing in,gives them ksh 100,000 anticipatory bail

BY EURIDICE NZIOKA,NAIROBI,6TH FEB 2018-High court has barred police from arresting NASA members of parliament for taking part in the swearing in of Raila Odinga  people’s president.

The members of parliament who were on police radar include Embakasi East Babu Owino,Ruaraka’s TJ Kajwang, Dagoreti north Simba Arati.

Others are George khaniniri,Cleophas malala,Hassan Joho,Gladys Wanga, David Ndii and James Orengo.

The legislatures have been give ksh 100,000 anticipatory bail .They will however  be required to present themselves at the Directorate of criminal investigations (DCI) on Thursday February  8 .This comes even as Ruaraka member of parliament TJ Kajwang was expected back in court today  (Tuesday February 6)

to take plea over his role in last week’s swearing-in of NASA leader Raila Odinga as the People’s President. Following his arrest, Kajwang was released on a Sh50,000 bond after he opposed the charges as defective.

The charge sheet indicated that he is being indicted for consenting the administration of an oath on Odinga, action authorities say, bound the NASA chief to commit a capital offence of treason.
