BY WANJIKU JOAN,NAIROBI,2ND FEB 2018-Mobile phone services providers Safaricom has reduced the cost on mobile broadband by up to 53%.
The new price will see 30 Gigabytes charged Sh3,500 under Easy30 bundle which is valid for 30 days and Sh6,000 for 50GB under Easy50 package, which has a validity of 45 days.
Under this service if the bundle is not depleted within the specified valid period the unused bundle will roll over upon purchasing of new bundles. The same plan allows customers who have depleted the bundles to still access the service at a speed of 256 kbps until the validity period expires.
On the other hand Safaricom customers who had earlier bought the big box can now access the service at discounted rates. The plan allows customers to purchase monthly home bundles at Sh3,199 for 15GB and Sh1,199 for 5GB which is valid for 30 days.
This development comes after Telkom launched a customer friendly a data plan for mobile data market with monthly bundles of Sh1,000 for 25GB and Sh6,000 for 210GB.
The airtel mobile phone services provider company also has relatively affordable data plan with the cheapest being 70mb for ksh 20.
