BY JOHN WERU,KIAMBU,24TH JAN 2018-A Kiambu police officer has been charged in a kiambu court with two counts of defiling a 15-year-old who was in his custody.Constable Paul Rotich appeared before a Gatundu senior principal magistrate Leticia Wachira.
In the first count, the Gatundu police station officer was charged with unlawfully and intentionally assaulting the minor in a sexual manner. Rotich allegedly committed this offence on January 13.The officer also faced a second charge associated with with indecently touching the girl’s private parts.
He denied all charges and was released on a bond of Sh200,000 with a surety of the same amount or a cash bail of Sh100,000.
Rotich first appeared before Gatundu resident magistrate Carol Makari on January 16.
It is after Prosecuting counsel Kerogo Matwa successfully applied for him to be detained for five working days for investigations to be completed.
