BY KORIR JUMA,NAIROBI,23RD JAN 2018-Marakwet East MP Bowen Kangogo has lost his position as vice chair of the National Assembly Environment and Natural Resources committee.

Kangongo was removed on Tuesday after 10 people voted against him.

He got only one supportive vote and will be replaced by Ijara MP Sophia Abdi.

WWW.UPESINEWS.CO.KE had on Monday January 22 reported that minority whip Junet Mohamed had directed the opposition MPs to skip the meetings as they had exercised their mandates.This is a directive well followed as no opposition Mp honored the invitation.

The Suna East MP wrote the letters to all members of the Labour and Social Welfare, Agriculture, Environment, Parliamentary Broadcasting and Library committees.

Nominated MP David Ole Sankok moved the vote of no confidence motion against Keter, claiming that they did not take into consideration the requirement of regional balance.

Others also voted out on Tuesday are  MPs Alfred Keter (Nandi Hills), Silas Tiren (Moiben), James Gakuya (Embakasi North) and Kangogo Bowen (Marakwet East).The lawmakers were  voted out through separate votes of no confidence at Parliament buildings.

Nasa MP, Bungoma Woman Representative Catherine Wambilianga was not also spared as she was shown the door since she had been elected as Mr Keter’s vice.

Mr Keter who has lost his post in the Labour committee said it was a sad day in the history of the Parliament of Kenya.
