BY KORIR JUMA/CORRESPONDENT,MERU,11TH JAN 2018-Former Tharaka Nithi Governor Samuel Ragwa  homes were raided by Detectives from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) on Thursday morning  who walked away with several key  documents they claim  will be of importance to them in their investigation.

The raid was carried out Ragwa’s two homes.WWW.UPESINEWS.COKE has established that   EACC officials arrived at Ragwa’s home in Kinoru  in Meru at 3am spending hours   before moving  to his other home at Giampampo in Tharaka Nithi County where they mounted a search before leaving at 11am together with the former county boss.

Ragwa who addressed  the press after being taken in by the EACC officers, said the operation would clear the many doubts about his property and how he was working at the county.

He called upon the County Government to focus more on development matters rather than spreading wrong information on how the county was mismanaged by the previous administration.

The former county boss says  it was unfortunate for the county leadership to say that there was no money in the bank before he left office whereas there was Ksh.96 million. He claimed that by the time he left office, the county had uncleared debts of Ksh.500 million and not the billions purported by the current leadership.

Ragwa has however added that he  suspects  the raid could be a witch-hunt planned  by his competitors during campaigns who are part of the current County administration.

The former governor was in the news  recently defending himself against claims of having stolen a generator worth Ksh.2.5 million belonging to Tharaka Nithi County which was found at his hotel .
