According to the prices were released on Thursday when KQ launched the inaugural sale, an economy ticket to fly to New York direct aboard Kenya Airways starting October 28 will set you back Sh89,000.
On the other hand those who want to fly on business class will part with Sh258,000.
On Wednesday, Kenyan Airways announced that the airline will start flying directly to the US from Kenya marking a historical moment for the national carrier.
The move, industry experts have said, would cut flight time between the two cities by more than seven hours.
The news is even exciting for Kenyans living in the US or studying who may want to travel home on time to time.Previously they had to connect flights via Heathrow Airport in London which has been more expensive and time consuming.
The announcement comes a day after the Interior Minister Fred Matiangi, Transport CS James Macharia and Tourism CS Najib Balala carried out an impromptu inspection tour of the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
The development comes after many years that Kenya undertaken to fulfill the necessary requirements before getting the approvals from the US Transport Security Administration for the direct flights
