Blow to AL Shabaab as KDF kills five militia

BY UPESINEWS REPORTER,NAIROBI,1ST JAN,2018-The terrorist network of AL Shaabab has suffered a major blow after the Kenya defense forces killed five  militants  believed to be behind the Ijara police station attack.The development has been confirmed by KDF spokesman colonel David Obonyo.In a statement sent to newsrooms on Monday January 1 Oonyo said the KDF met with the terrorists  on the Kenyan Somalia border  on Sunday evening  where exchange of fire ensued resulting to deaths of the five.

Destruction of the Vehicle

Obonyo further  said the stolen police land cruiser was destroyed after fire fight bomb making materials that were being ferried in the vehicle stolen from Ijara police station  exploded.

A motorcycle suspected to have been stolen in Ijara , 5AK rifles , 13 magazines with 370 rounds of ammunition , 2 grenades, bomb making materials, and personal items were also recovered.

Obonyo added that the troops are still in pursuit of other terrorists who fled with injuries to the general area of Sarira, 25 kilometers North of Baure.

He has appealed to members of the public to report any suspicious people with bullet wounds seeking medical attention.

Suspected Al Shabaab Militants attacked the Ijara police station, stealing a police land cruiser and burning a section of the AP camp on Friday night .
