BY EURIDICE NZIOKA,NAIROBI,31ST DEC 2017-The National Cohesion and Integration Commission Chairperson (NCIC) Francis Ole Kaparo on Sunday threw his weight behind the teachers service commission move to transfer of heads of schools.
Kaparo says transferring school heads far from their locality or place of origin will play a big role in promoting national cohesion among different communities in Kenya.
This comes just a week after a total of 557 primary and secondary school headteachers received letters of deployment to their new work stations effective January.
However the decision has met resistance from Kenya national union of teachers KNUT among other education stakeholders in the country who feel that The teachers employer ought to have held consultations before effecting move .The teachers’ employer teachers service commission TSC however, insists that it is determined to effect the new deployments in a move they have termed ‘delocalizing institutions’.
