BY NAMULONGO PETER/CORRESPONDENTS,1ST JAN,2018-Kenyans thronged various spots across the country to usher in the new year  2018 in style.Spot check conducted by WWW.UPESINEWS.CO.KE  in Nairobi and other major cities across the country  revealed that Kenyans came out in large numbers to welcome the new year in unique way they deemed fit.

In Nairobi churches were filled to capacity with faithful congregating to Thank God for the ending  year 2017 and welcome the new year 2018.In Christian Foundation fellowship CFF on Bunyala road in Nairobi  Arch Bishop Harrison Nganga had a word of hope for the church in the year.

Quoting several scriptures the servant of the lord encouraged the faithful to begin the new year with optimism knowing that the new year will be a year of accomplishment.’’Mukuwe na Imani ya kwamba mwaka huu utakuwa mwaka wa mungu kutamatisha kile alianza’’.he said.(loosely translating to you should approach the year with optism for the God will accomplish what he begun in your lives)

Similar services were also beamed in other churches across the city among them Christ is the answer ministry valley road,Mavuno church South C,Winners Chapel,Neno Avanjelism,Thika Road Baptist church among others.

Revelers also flocked entertainment joints in Nairobi and across the country to welcome the new  year.In Kitengela the Churchil show was beamed live from one of the clubs within town giving residents an opportunity to usher in the new year with style.

The same scenario was witnessed in Eldoret with Pamoja concert which brought together locals among the Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago as well as several other politicians from the county.Pmaoja concert was orginized by KTN .Entertainment was in plenty withe gospel singer Emmy Kosgey and comedian Eric Omondi keeping the crowd  busy.

In Nakuru the Vuka Mwaka concert was also going down with Royal media services and Cocacola company ensuring that the residents crossed the year in style.

The attendees were treated to lots of entertainment from renowned top gospel artists .

Back in the city of Nairobi fire works rented the air with celebrations hitting every part of the city.Fireworks could be seen in major buildings among them KICC,I&M ,Nation ,the University of nairobi towers.KEMU towers among others.
