BY CORRESPONDENT,KISUMU,29TH DEC 2017-The court will issue a ruling on the petition challenging Kisumu Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o’s election on January 3.This has been announced thrown a notice issued on December 29.
“Take notice that the judgemnt in the Kisumu High Court election petition of Jack Ranguma verses IEBC, County Returing Officer and Peter Anyang’ Nyong’o shall be delivered on Wednesday, January 3 2018,” says the notice.
The immediate former county governor Jack Ranguma filed a petition before the court challenging Nyong’o’s election victory.
Several witnesses from both the petitioner, Governor Nyong’o and IEBC’s side testified in the case.
Kisumu High Court Judge David Majanja had earlier said the court will give a notice of judgment for the case before January 30.
In his petition, Ranguma wants the court to overturn Nyong’o’s victory on grounds that the August elections for the Kisumu gubernatorial seat were not conducted within the confines of the Constitution.

Ranguma told the court that the election was marred by massive malpractices and irregularities.
NYONG’O’ S POSITION
However, Governor Nyong’o has maintained that the election that saw him win the seat was carried out in accordance within the constitution.Nyongo Is represented by lawyers James Orengo and Anthoney Oluoch.
