Drama at St Mary’s mission hospital in Langata as management is forcefully evicted

BY NAMULONGO PETER,NAIROBI,28TH DEC 2017-There was drama and confusion at St Mary’s hospital in Langata on Thursday Morning after police armed with court order and new leadership of the hospital stormed the institution to evict the long serving management team.
The stand off disrupted services with patient remaining stranded for the better part of the day.
The police were called in to forcefully evict the previous managers and make way for a new team.The hospital management has been embroiled in ownership tussle for years pitting the assumption sisters of Nairobi on one side and the proprietor on the other.The assumption sisters of Nairobi claim ownership of the premier medical services while the proprietor has stood his ground.
There was resistance from the staff of the hospital to be evicted by police a scenario that almost become dangerous as police forced them out.
The new management is now under the Assumption sisters of Nairobi.
