BY SAMSON MBII,17TH DEC 2017-2017 CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup final pitting Harambee Stars of Kenya and the Zanzibari Heroes  goes down today Sunday  December 17 starting 4pm  at the Kenyatta stadium in Machakos. The match will be preceded by the one between   Uganda Cranes and Burundi for the third place finish from 1PM Kenyan time.

Zanzibar Heroes Head Coach Hemed Morocco Suleiman has praised his team after seeing off defending champions Uganda Cranes 2-1 in the second semi-final of the 2017 edition on CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup on Friday 15, a clash staged at the Moi Stadium Kisumu.

”I want to thank God first, then my players for the effort that they have put in to see us reach the final. It gives us great joy to finally reach the final after such a long time,” says Morocco, evidently elated at the prospect of bagging a title they last won in 1995.

While his opposite number Moses Basena reveals that he never imagined Heroes would beat them, Morocco on his part insists theirs is a result of proper planning that found favor with how the match eventually panned out.

”It was a tough match to play against the defending champions but we had planned to win. Had our game plan and I thank God it worked well for us. Going by the way we played, we deserved to win,” he added.

Morocco  has also expressed confidence that his team will deliver this year’s cup when they meet Harambee stars.

Ticketing company Big Brother Events & Ticketing will handle the ticketing and main stand tickets will be sold at Kshs 500 while those for the terraces will go at Kshs 200. The sale of both tickets begins at 9 am  in Machakos.
