State honors individuals who have exemplified spirit of nationalism as Kenya marked 54th Jamhuri

BY JOHN WERU,NAIROBI,12TH DEC 2017-Several Kenyans have been honored by government  as the country marked the 54 Jamhuri day on Tuesday December 12 .

Those who were awarded ranged from journalists,religious  leaders,ordinary Kenyans all who have played a role in spearheading nationalism.

Those on the list  included   Githeri man  whose real name is Martin Kamotho blogger Robert Alai, musicians Ben Githae and Rufftone,  State House Director of Digital Communications Dennis Itumbi, Deputy Director in charge of State branding and events Thomas “Big Ted” Kwaka, Citizen TV’s senior reporter Jackie Maribe,State House Senior Director of Public Communication Munyori Buku and Hellen Nkaiserry, the wife of the late Cabinet minister Joseph Nkaissery.

Also honored are  Evangelists Lucy Ngunjiri and Teresia Wairimu, Billy Arocho and boxer Fatuma Zarika.

They were honored by president Uhuru Kenyatta after his Jamhuri day speech.

The Chief of the Order of the Golden Heart (C.G.H) is the highest honour in Kenya followed by the Elder of the Order of the Golden Heart of Kenya (E.G.H.) then the Moran of the Order of the Golden Heart of Kenya (M.G.H.).
