BY CORRESPONDENT,MATUNDA,12TH DEC 2017-Fourteen people have died after the vehicle they were traveling in was involved in a tragic accident on Monday night along the Kitale-Webuye road.
The accident occurred at Kamukuywa bridge residents have termed the scene as black spot due many such incidents that have been witnessed in recent times.
The cases of road accidents are on the rise as it has been the case in December with over 30 lives having been lost within a span of just a wee.
WWW.UPESINEWS.CO.KE had last weekend reported of another accident that claimed tens of lives in Baringo and along the Nakuru-Eldoret road on Saturday.
The National Safety and Transport Authority has since intensified safety measures on the major roads to curb the incidents.
Two weeks a go it launched a strategy in collaboration with tax operators as well as PSV drivers to ensure that no driver drives under the influence of Alcohol.The authority has also increased its presence on the roads to ensure that drivers adhere to all traffic regulations and bylaws .
