Suspects accused of attacking Deputy CJ Philomena Mwilu’s bodyguard released on bond

BY KORIR JUMA,NAIROBI,5TH DEC 2017-Three suspects accused of shooting and injuring the bodyguard of Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu  have been  released on a Ksh.1 million bond with two sureties each.The suspects were arraigned in court on Tuesday and charged with robbery with violence.

Appearing before Chief Magistrate Joyce Gandani the accused, identified as  James Wachira, Eric Njuguna and Everyncy Khalifwa pleaded not guilty to the charge of violently robbing Police Constable Titus Musyoka.

The  attackers robbed him of his gun; a jerico pistol, with 15 rounds of ammunition after which they   escaped  using a motorbike.

Police  say  that a pistol holster belonging to Musyoka was recovered from Njuguna’s house in Kasarani estate.

Musyoka was shot outside Marsabit Plaza on Ngong Road in Nairobi on October 24, 2017.The deputy chief justice was not with him at the time.
