BY CORRESPONDENT,KISUMU,4TH DEC 2017-The National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga says the move by police to arrest strategist David Ndii is engineered by government with the aim of suppressing Kenyan’s will.Addressing the press from Kisumu on Monday ,Odinga has accused the government for resulting to intimidation of kenyans in order to force them to give up their push for electoral reforms. ”The people of Kenya will not be intimidated into submissions,the will of the people of Kenya can not be suppressed through shootings,arbitrarily arrests or imprisonment”.Said Odinga.
Odinga has also accused the police for the deaths of hundreds of their supporters who have died since August 8 elections.He says police were acting on orders from government to shoot and kill their people.”So far we have buried over 20 of our supporters and this week we shall bury 20 others we condemn in the strongest terms possible the use of police by government to kill our people, this is unacceptable”.he added.
Odinga has urged the Friendly countries to intervene and stop what he called abuse of human rights by the government.”we call upon friends of Kenya from outside to stand and help defend the country.he said.
He added that the push by Kenyans for electoral reforms and justice will not be curtailed or stopped by any acts of intimidation.
Odinga had paid a courtesy call to the government of the county of Kisumu to give advice on how to entrench devolution.He urged the two arm of the county government to work together so as realize its full potential.He has also urged Kenyans to stand up and defend devolution adding that the future of Kenya was in devolution.
