BY NAMULONGO PETER,NAIROBI,25TH NOV 2017-Nairobi residents traveling back and from different parts of the city will have to content with the schedule released by the police to guide traffic on Tuesday during President Uhuru Kenyatta’s inauguration .
Nairobi County Commander Japheth Koome says a number of roads will be closed next week as a security measure because of the high number of diplomats expected to grace the event.
The County Commander who addressed the press on Saturday has requested for extra police officers because of Tuesday’s event saying that Mombasa Road, Uhuru Highway and Thika Road will be marked as “red zones” motorists unable to access the three roads.
“Because of security protocol the aforementioned roads will be marked as red zones. A red zone means an area with heavy deployment of police officers,” said the county commander.
Other roads to be avaoided includes Valley road,ngong and Langata because of the Standard Chartered Marathon slated for Sunday November 26
Koome has assured the city residents and other visitors expected to arrive that Security will be beefed up and nobody should be a afraid..
