BY SAMSON MBII,24TH NOV 2017-Liverpool centre-back Joel Matip has reportedly resumed full first-team training.
The 26-year-old had been absent from their recent Champions League and Premier League fixtures against Sevilla and Southampton respectively after picking up a thigh injury.
Matip was pictured taking part in drills at the club’s Melwood Training Ground on Wednesday – a development that has medics confident that the defender will be fit to take part in their highly anticipated clash against Chelsea this Saturday.
This will undoubtedly be good news for boss Jurgen Klopp since the Reds struggled defensively in the Cameroon international’s absence as evidenced by their breakdown in the second half of their 3-3 draw Champions League group stage draw against Sevilla, where the English side had already established a 3-0 lead early in the first half.
