BY JOHN WERU,NAIROBI,20TH NOV 2017-The independent Electoral and boundaries Commission IEBC chair Wafula Chebukati has commended the Supreme court for upholding president elect Uhuru Kenyatta’s win.
In a statement Chebukati noted that the decision rendered by the apex court on Monday Morning serves to proof that the repeat poll conducted by the commission on October 26 was indeed credible and met all constitutional threshold.
Chebukati also added that they are awaiting the Supreme Court’s reasoned judgment, which will inform their post-election evaluations. “We are waiting for the reasoned judgment to inform our post-election evaluation that is about to commence,” he said .
There has been little or no celebrations at all in the NASA stronghold across the country even as Jubilee regions celebrated the decision.According to the constitution the president elect is suppose to be sworn into office seven days after the court renderes its decision.Kenyatta is expectyed to be sworn into office on T
