NASA moves rally to Kibra after police rule that Kamukunji grounds is out of bounce

BY JOHN WERU,NAIROBI,16TH NOV 2017-NASA has moved its rally to Kibra after police cordoned off Kamukunji Grounds where the meeting was to take place.

The Opposition was to hold the rally as a rehearsal to welcome Raila Odinga who will jet back from the US on Friday.

Siaya Senator James Orengo told journalists at JKIA that “no force under the sun” will stop NASA from holding its activities.

He said Raila’s grand welcome rally, dubbed ‘a million march’, is on and will start at the airport despite the police ban.

Security agencies said the airport is a protected area so they cannot allow such a multitude into the premises.

Early Thursday  journalists were denied entry to JKIA for a press conference called by NASA leaders.

Police blocked the main gate and ordered them to reverse saying no politician would be allowed into the facility.

MPS TJ Kjwang and Babu Owino’s arrest

During a rally organized in Nairobi as a part of preparations for Odinga and Kalonzo’s welcome Embakasi Mp Babu Owino and his Ruaraka counterpart TJ Kajwang  were arrested.

The rally attended by top NASA affiliated parts including James Orengo vowed that the colaition will go on with its plan despite intimidation from police.

This comes evens police for the second time on Thursday warned that  NASA will not be allowed to hold a homecoming party at the JKIA for its Principals Kalonzo Musyoka and Raila Odinga who are expected in the country on Friday November 17.
