Court locks Ugenya MP chris Karan out of petition seeking to challenge his win

BY CORRESPONDENT,KISUMU,16TH NOV 2017-The court has locked Ugenya MP Chris Karan h out of an election petition challenging his win after he presented a fake document in court.

Kisumu High Court Judge Trisphisa Cherere in her ruling in the application whether to allow late responses expunged all documents presented by the lawyers representing the MP .Karan who is the 2nd respondent in a case filed by the former MP Dave Ochieng had responded to the court petition out of time and later argued that he was taken ill at a Mombasa hospital.

Addressing the press at the law courts after the case, Daniel Achach, lawyer representing former MP Ochieng explained that MP Karan had presented to court a fake document.

However, lawyer Achach says when they wrote to the hospital to inquire more, the hospital disowned the MP and the letter he purported to have been issued to him.

The court found out that the MP had used a fake document to advance his case.
