Mutahi Kahiga takes over the mantle as Nyeri governor promising to fulfill his predecessor’s dreams

BY CORRESPONDENT,NYERI,13TH NOV 2017-Mutahi Kahiga was on Monday November 13th, sworn in as the new governor of Nyeri County taking over from the late Wahome Gakuru who died in a tragic road accident at Kabati in Murang’a a week ago.
Mr Kahiga, took the oath of office Monday in a colourful ceremony attended by Leaders from Nyeri, including County Assembly Speaker John Kaguchia, Senator Ephraim Maina and the six MPs were in attendance. over 500 residents from Nyeri County were also present .Addressing the gathering Kahiga promised to ensure dreams that were held by the late governor Gakuru are fulfilled.”We have been working closely with Gakuru,we had a dream together to deliver the promise of Nyeri county,and the promise will be indeed delivered” he said.
conspicuously missing from the ceremony though were other 46 governors .
ICT Cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru who is chairing the national organising funeral committee and former governor Samuel Wamathai were also present.
Other leaders present were Kirinyaga Deputy Governor Peter Ndambiri and Elgeyo-Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen.
