BY SAMSON MBII,NAIROBI,8TH NOV 2017-A total of 12 countries converge in the country next month for the Confederation of East And Central Africa Football Association (CECAFA) championship .
The championship will kick off on 25th of November to December 12 marking the first time the tournament is in the country since 2013 when Kenya beat Sudan in the finals
FKF president Nick Mwendwa has assured that the tournament hosting will usher in more games and competition coming to Kenya.
-12 teams are expected in Kenya. 10 within CECAFA with exception of Djibuoti and Eritrea, Mwendwa said
On his part, CECAfA Secretary Nicholas Musonye expressed confidence of the tournament taking place even as details on sponsorship and coverage remain to be disclosed soon.
Meanwhile, Zimbabwe and Libya will feature as guest in the edition and as replacement to Djibouti and Eritrea, who will not participate in the championship.
Mumias, Bukhungu, Kisumu’s Moi stadium and Afraha are among the venues to host the championship with Kasarani and Machakos set as stand-by.
