Voting in Kitutu Chache south parliamentary by elections kicks off without a hitch

BY CORRESPONDENT,KISII,7TH NOV 2017-People of Kitutu Chache South constituency are taking part in voting in a parliamentary by-Election  to elect their member of parliament. Spot check by WWW.UPESINEWS.CO.KE in various poling stations in the constituency has established that the exercise is proceeding on well with no major incidents noted.  Independent Electoral commission (IEBC)  had postponed the election after to the death of one of the candidates two weeks to August 8 General Election.

The Jubilee candidate Leonard Mwamba died in a car crash in Nyakoe area while traversing the constituency on his campaign.

IEBC rescheduled the by-elections to November 7 and cleared seven candidates from different political parties.

The tight race in expected between Antony Kibagendi of Jubilee and sitting MP Richard Onyonga (Ford Kenya).Another strong contender is  Samuel Omwando of (ODM)

In most poling stations voting begun at 6am with all poling stations expected  to close at 5pm when counting of votes will commence.
