The nationwide strike set to start at 2pm could largely affect students who were preparing to sit their end of years exams.

The Universities Academic Staff Union (Uasu) has asked lecturers in all public universities to stay away from work until they are paid their new salaries.

The government needs to part with Sh5.2 billion  in order to pay  the university staff in their upgraded structure.
