Repeat presidential poll was shambolic-NASA

BY KORIR JUMA,NAIROBI,27TH OCT 2017-The National Super Alliance (Nasa) has dismissed Thursday repeat presidential poll saying it was a sham , a “Jubilee farce” and shame to Kenya.
In a statement read by co-principal Musalia Mudavadi, the opposition alliance on Friday also condemned planned repeat poll in Nyanza.
The IEBC plans to hold the election on Saturday in Kisumu, Migori, Homa Bay and Siaya amid opposition from local political, religious and civil society leaders.
Nasa asked the IEBC to call off the poll and accused government of “profiling and targeting” the region for standing with Nasa leader Raila Odinga, who pulled out of the Thursday election.
The reapeat poll has been marred by low voter turn out since it begun on Thursday morning.The Vote tallying begun on Friday morning indicating a significant drop in voter turnout during the October 26 repeat presidential election as compared to the August 8 General Election.
Figures already confirmed by Wafula Chebukati, the electoral commission chair on Thursday evening showed that the voter turnout of Thursday’s poll dropped to around 33% from the close to 80% voter turnout experienced during the elections in August.
