BY NAMULONGO PETER,22ND OCT 2017-President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto on Sunday led the nation in prayers just four days to the repeat presidential poll.The prayers led by Reverent Teresia Wairimu were held at the Afuraha stadium in Nakuru with echoes of forgiveness renting the air.
The president who has also led a prayer for the nation shortly after taking the podium asked Kenyans to continue praying for the country.
While urging Kenyans to come out in large numbers on Thursday and vote,Uhuru said everyone had a right to either participate in the exercise or not.He has also said there shall be security in all parts of the country asking those who would want to vote not to fear.
On his side the deputy president William Ruto urged Kenyans to unite so as to build cohesive kenya .”We have come a long way. Let us unite to build a one Kenya where no one will be left behind”he said.The deputy president has further called upon Kenyans to shun politics of hate, tribalism, division and embrace what brings them together.
“Let’s be co-workers in building bridges of brotherhood and friendship,”he added.
The event was also attended by several governors among them Nakuru governor Lee Kinyanjui.
