BY  KORIR JUMA,NAIROBI,18TH OCT 2017-President Uhuru  Kenyatta has called for  for an extended period of prayer and reconciliation this weekend.In his statement issued from state house Nairobi,the head of state has urged Kenyans to come together for the sake of the country.

He says the presidential election slated for Thursday next week should not divide the country.”God has lifted this country before.

He will do so again.” he said.He has also urged religious leaders in the country to pray for kenya . ”and our religious leaders have provided, especially in the last few months i urge them to keep up”.

The president  who was accompanied by deputy president William Ruto, acknowledged that the country’s politics were unstable but  the care of God on Kenya is unmovable.”For the truth is that the politics of the day is fleeting, but this nation, under God’s care, endures.”he added.

The president has also asked Kenyans to pray for each others   and ask for forgiveness if wronged urging those who forgiveness is sought not to withhold it.”We will also pray for each other: for if your brother or sister asks you forgiveness, do not withhold it”.said the president.
