NASA condemns Uuru for assenting to electoral amendments bills says they will take the country back to single party rule

BY KORIR JUMA,NAIROBI,13TH OCT 2017-The National Super Alliance NASA on Friday condemned the decision by president Uhuru Kenyatta to assent to the electoral laws amendments bills saying the move will take the country to the olden dark days of a single party rule. Addressing the press at the Raila Odinga   Capital hill office NASA leaders led by Siaya senator James Orengo says  immediately the same are gazetted they will become law.”We begin this day on a very sad note we have been notified that Uhuru has signed the bills,this means that in case the electronic voter identification fails they will result to manual system which is unfortunate”.Said Orengo.

Orengo further condemned acting interior cabinet secretary Fred Matiangi who banned the demonstrations from the three major Cities of Nairobi,Mombasa and Kisumu.”Matiang’i should be told that there is no law as per nor barring any member of society from engage in peaceful picketing”.He said. Orengo has also said their demonstrations will continue as planned in  various parts of the country including in the CBDs of the three major cities.According to Orengo it was not NASA supporters who have been engaging in destruction of property whenever they hold demos. He added that it was done by other people who  are disguised   as NASA supporters.”It is the responsibility of the police to provide security to demonstrators and  guard against any attempt  by demonstrators to cause chaos” .He said.

Orengo has also told journalists that NASA Co-princpals Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka are curently out of the country with Odinga in the UK and Kalonzo in the US.Kalonzo is expected in the country of Friday While Odinga will jet in on Saturday.
