BY KORIR JUMA,NAIROBI,12TH OCT 2017-The government has assured Kenyans and especially those in drought hit regions that it will continue to provide food subsidy until normalcy returns.
Addressing the press in Nairobi on Thursday 12th Oct,Agriculture cabinet secretary Willy Bet says government has no plans of ending the program until it was sure that there was enough food produced by Kenyan farmers to cater for local consumption.
Bet has also said the government had set aside kshs 6.5billion shillings towards emergency food purchase plans if there was an acute shortage of food in the county. The government will be able to buy food even from neighboring countries to mitigate any lack of food.
