BY KORIR JUMA,NAIROBI,6TH OCT 2017-The independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission IEBC on Friday kicked off a four-day training in Nairobi of election officials from all constituencies as a part of preparations for the repeat elections slated for October 26.
The training will see 290 Returning Officers and their deputies instructed on election management.Others are to be trained are 47 county managers and 47 county ICT officers.
The training session follows completion of the revision of the Commission’s training guideline on Tuesday this week.
The Commission has also completed training master trainers who will facilitate training of poll officials.
IEBC has stated that it was ready for the repeat poll .Commission will be sending its Election managing officials in over he 40,000 polling stations a cross the country days to the elections as well as gadgets.
IEBC Chairperson Chebukati had said on Tuesday that the Commission was reorganizing its staff in a move to strengthen election management in the new poll.
“We’re dealing with matters as regards to what the Supreme Court stated. Issues raised by the National Super Alliance (NASA) will be addressed with the Supreme Court judgment so that whatever we do is in compliance with the Constitution,” he said.
