COTU boss Francis Atwoli threatens to lead tea sector workers strike if CBA not implemented

BY CORRESPONDENT,NAKURU,4TH OCT 2017-COTU secretary general Francis Atwoli wants employers in the tea sector in the country to hold talks on implementation of a collective bargaining agreement (CBA) reached between them and the workers in 2016.
While issuing a statement on the same in Nakuru on Wednesday 4th Oct, Atwoli has accused the tea sector employers for renegading CBAs they reached in the past with employees and using courts to evade doing justice.”Yes they are used to running to courts and obtaining injunctions,this time let them try we will also go to court and overturn any such move.” said Atwoli.
He has threatened to lead countrywide strike of tea workers if talks aimed at implementing fully the agreement will not commence immediately.”I will lead nationwide strike of all tea workers in this country and i know it will succeed”.he said.
