Director of public prosecutions asks DCI to investigate 6 safaricom staff linked to rigging August 8 poll

BY NAMULONGO PETER,NAIROBI,3RD OCT 2017-The tussle involving safaricom staff who are associated with bungling the August 8 elections on Tuesday 3RD OCT ,took  anew turn after the director of public prosecution Keriako Tobiko instructed the  Directorate of Criminal Investigations to investigate  claims by NASA that they were involved in election malpractices.The six are Shaka Kwach, Anthony Gachanja, Robert Mutai, Thibaud Rerolle, Farouk Gaffour and Andrew Masila.

in a letter to the DCI director Ndegwa Muhoro seen by WWW.UPESINEWS.CO.KE Keriako wants the named persons investigated as a matter of urgency and the necessary action taken.

The opposition had given the Director of public prosecution three days to prosecute the said individuals but the time has since lapsed hence the private prosecutions.

Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore  has since defended the firm saying that ‘results from KIEMs kits from Safaricom zones, were transmitted and are on the IEBC web portal.

Collymore asked politicians not to drag the firm into politics which he says could have detrimental outcomes to the firm and the economy.
