BY NAMULONGO PETER,NAIROBI,27TH SEPT 2017-Milimani law court on Wednesday 27TH SEPT, set free Embakasi East member of parliament Babu Owino on a half a million shillings cash bail or a sum of a million shillings bond with two sureties.
While granting the bail Milimani law court magistrate Francis Andai said the bail was given on the basis that the respondent in the case did not provide evidence that the accused has links with any terrorist group as it is required if one was to be denied bail.
The judge has also ordered that the accused must be able to obey and follow all instructions that will be given to him after he is set free.
He was arrested on Monday evening and taken to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations for questioning .He is being represented by Lawyers James Orengo and Otiende Amollo.
Owino is accused of allegedly uttering the statement in reference to President Uhuru Kenyatta during an opposition rally in Kawangware on Sunday.
