Mombasa governor Hassan Joho vows to move to court over arrests of 7 county inspectorate officials

BY CORRESPONDENT,MOMBASA,25TH SEPT 2017-Mombasa county governor Hassan Joho has threatened to move to court if seven  inspectorate officials arrested on Monday will not be set free before the end of the day.

Addressing the press at Nyali police station where he had gone to seek release of the officers arrested while implementing orders of the National land commission barring development of a beach plot adjacent to the shores of Indian ocean, in the county ,Joho has accused Mombasa police boss Larry Kiyeng  of arbitrary arrest of  the officials who were doing their job.

The seven officers were arrested early Monday while attempting to prevent the construction of a perimeter wall around the plot.Joho has accused the police for remaining  silence whenever there was a terrorist attacks arround the boni forest the police boss has nwever come out as he came out to supervise the construction of the wall.”Wakati kuna shambuliozi la kigaidi katika sehemu hii hauwezi kumuona akijitokeza lakini wakatii ukta unajengwa kwa ardhi ya umma ndiposa anajitokeza”.he said.Joho who left the police station without the officers wants them taken to court as it is the law instead of detaining them for no reason.

The national land commission had warned any member of the public against grabbing the plot as it was public property.Joho has vowed to ensure that it reverts back to its former state saying he will not allow attempts from any body to grab it.
