Irreducible minimum list must be met before election, Insists Odinga

BY JOHN WERU,23RD SEPT 2017-The national Super Alliance Nasa  principal and presidential  candidate  Raila Odinga   took  its campaign in his backyard of Bondo  on Saturday maintaining   that if reforms are undertaken at the IEBC there will be no election.  NASA leader also says Uhuru Kenyatta is just but a caretaker president.

Raila said time is due to send Uhuru home after October 26 as he is an equivalent of a lame duck president with no powers.

The Nasa chief insisted that they are prepared for elections only if their irreducible minimum demands are upheld.

“There will be no elections if those who messed with the elections are still in office,” Raila said.

He added that for elections to be held on October 26 the server must be cleaned as soon as possible.

“Some of our demands before we warmly accept any elections to take place in October includes new transmission equipment, the dismissal of OT Morpho and Alghurar,” he added.

OT Morpho is the French firm that was contracted by the IEBC to supply the Kenya Integrated Elections Management System (KIEMS).

Al Ghurair, a Dubai based security and printing company, was tasked with printing ballot papers.

Raila said Al Ghurair printed a lot of fake extra ballot papers that Jubilee have stuffed into ballot boxes and that is why they are now demanding for a recount.

Odinga  said IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba and several other officials were culpable and must leave office before fresh elections are held.

“I am putting IEBC on notice that if our conditions are not met there will be no elections,” Raila said.

He was speaking at Sihai village in Ugenya on Saturday during the burial ceremony of Maurice Odundo, a former KenGen accountant.

The Opposition chief was accompanied by Siaya Senator James Orengo, Siaya governor Cornel Rasanga and Gem MP Elisha Odhiambo.
