BY JOHN WERU,NAIROBI,22ND SEPT 2017-The attorney general prof Githu Muigai has sought to put the records straight concerning the issue of who leads the country should there be no election on 26th October
.Addressing the press at his office in Nairobi Friday 22ND Sept,the attorney general says that the constitution does not provide for anything like caretaker government should there be no election within 60 days as stipulated by the constitution.
After the supreme court delivered its full ruling on why the election held on 8th August was nullified there are many hurdles that still stands on the way of the independent electoral and boundaries Commission IEBC in conducting fresh elections.
The national super Alliance NASA has a list of reducible minimums which it insist met be met before a fresh round of presidential election is held.NASA has made it clear that if fresh credible presidential poll were to be held all IEBC officials who bungled the 8th of August polls must be relieved of their duties and be prosecuted.They also want among other demands , the ballot papers printing firm AL Ghurair from Dubai and KIEMS provider SAFRAN morpho not contracted again after numerous anomalies were witnessed in the August poll .
