Orengo dismisses claims he met supreme court judges before ruling

BY NAMULONGO PETER,NAIROBI,19TH SEPT 2017-Siaya Senator James Orengo has dismissed allegations that he held secret meetings and talks with Supreme Court judges before the court cancelled President Uhuru Kenyatta’s victory. In affidavit  that was filed at supreme court  Tuesday, Sept 19, by the petitioner Malika Ngumu claims that Siaya Senator James Orengo and Bungoma senator were in contact with the judges through proxies.Orengo and other NASA lawyers and leaders including Senators Moses Wetang’ula and Amos Wako were adversely mentioned as having held secretive meetings with Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu and Justice Isaac Lenaola.
Orengo is alleged to have used a mobile phone belonging to his sister alleged to be a struggling tailor in Nairobi to communicate with the judges.
 The affidavit alleges Orengo spoke to Mwilu through a number registered under his sister’s name ahead of the ruling.
 Through a tweet ,Orengo has however rubbished off the claims saying that he has not talked to his sister for ages.
He also clarified that his sister is called Florence Adhiambo.
Another  lawyer cum politician Miguna Miguna  has also dismissed attacks on  NASA leadership and judiciary saying he believes the August 8 general elections were stolen in favour of Uhuru Kenyatta.
