BY KORIR JUMA,NAIROBI,15TH SEPT 2017-President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday ordered Nyeri town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu to drop his petition seeking the ouster of the chief justice David Maraga .
The MP filed a petition on Thursday, September 15, following the Supreme Court’s landmark ruling that nullified president Uhuru’s win in the August 8 election.
The Jubilee party has since distanced itself from the petition saying it was it was individually sponsored.
Speaking in Sagana, Kirinyaga county at the State Lodge on Friday, September 15, Uhuru told Wambugu to drop the petition so that they can all focus on ensuring the Jubilee Party wins the October 17 repeat presidential election. “Leave the judiciary alone. We have agreed to go back to the voters and go to the ballot. I understand your pain and action but we have an election to win on October 17. That has to be our focus. All we want is for the will of the people to prevail,” said Uhuru.
In as much as Jubilee has come out and denounced the petition,the opposition outfit the National super Alliance NASA has claimed that Jubilee was blindfolding kenyans saying the party and by extension president Uhuru Kenyatta new the origin of the petition.
Since the supreme court made the historic Ruling on September 1st,The jubilee party has come out expressing its displeasure,With president Uhuru saying publicly that he will deal with the judges.
