The Ngunjiri petition did not originate from us-Jubilee

BY KORIR JUMA,NAIROBI,15TH SEPT 2017-The Jubilee party  parliamentary group has distanced itself from a petition filed in court by Nyeri Town member of parliament on Thursday seeking removal of chief justice David Maraga From office.

Addressing the press in parliament buildings Friday Jubilee Mps led by Elgeyo Marakweti Senetor Kipchumba Murkomen and the leader of majority in the National Assembly Aden Duale, the leaders have insisted that the petition did not emanate  from them

.They have said  the most important issue before them was the second round of presidential poll slated for October 17.”We would like to urge any of our members of parliament to desist in engaging in any side shows and concentrate on the oncoming elections”.said Duale.

On his part Murkomen has taken issue with the opposition  saying it has been critical of Jubilee leadership associating it with the Ngunjiri petition  despite the party coming out to deny any involvement.”When it is a member of NASA who has filed a similar petition as it has been witnessed in the past you never hear NASA speaking”.said Murkomen. However Murkomen who was categorical that Wambugu was within his right to file such a petition says be it as it is it needs to be looked into it with the seriousness it deserves. The vocal senator says the petition raises weighty issues that should not be ignored.
