BY JOHN WERU/DPPS,14TH SEPT 2017-Deputy present William Ruto on Thursday 14th September, took Jubilee campaigns to Vihiga county where he asked residents to vote for Jubilee during the second round of presidential poll slated for October 17. Deputy President has said the Opposition was asking its supporters not to participate in the October 17 elections because it was afraid of losing by a bigger margin.
He said the main reason the Nasa leadership did not want to participate in the elections was fear of deadest and not the reforms in the electoral commission they were pretending to glamour for. Mr Ruto asked why the Opposition was afraid of elections when it claimed to have popular support.
Mr Ruto said it is the Constitutional right of all Kenyans to elect leaders of their choice without coercion or intimidation. He said the Opposition wanted to cause confusion in order to negotiate a coalition Government. Addressing more than 5,000 people at the home of former governor Moses Akaranga in Mbale, Vihiga County who pledged their support for the Jubilee Party ahead of the October 17 elections, the Deputy President said Kenyans should be given the opportunity to decide on the leaders they want without any intimidation. “Kenyans should be allowed to make their own decisions on the leaders to elect. After all its God who decides on leaders through elections,” said Mr Ruto. “Nobody should stand in the way of Kenyans from choosing leaders of their choice at the ballot,” added the Deputy President.
