BY JOHN WERU,NAIROBI,12TH SEPT 2017-Confusion marred a  meeting that was called by the independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission IEBC  on Tuesday between  NASA and Jubilee presidential candidates Raila Odinga and Uhuru Kenyatta to deliberate on important issues concerning a fresh round of elections.

The meeting that was scheduled for 11am  had not started by 1pm after  NASA principals Musalia Mudavadi,Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka  claimed that their Jubilee counterparts had not honored the invitation.According to NASA principal Musalia Mudavadi NASA team had been at IEBC offices at the Anniversary towers   as early as 10am only for Jubilee not to turn up.

He says the move was an indicator that IEBC was  not ready for the meeting.Mudavadi also said the electoral commission had introduced new terms to the talks aimed at making sure that issues that have not been agreed upon among the two presidential candidates are ironed out on time.

He says the new terms inform of a booklet will need some time from their part to understand them before any talks could be possible. However 10 minutes after NASA left the IEBC offices Jubilee team  led by deputy president William Ruto arrived and went inside.

Ruto told journalists outside IBEC offices that the meeting was not very important insisting that most of the issue was proper plans  by IEBC to ensure the repeat poll was  a success.
